Part A- Trip Cancellation Waiver

Up to 100% of trip costs, including deposit — reserve with peace of mind

You never know what life will hold with after you reserve your journey. That’s why our plan allows for you to retain the full value of your trip, up to the scheduled day of departure. You’ll be reimbursed in cash so long as you meet the benefit requirements as detailed in the Plan Documents. For any reason outside of the benefit requirements, you’ll receive a travel voucher for a new Vantage journey for the penalty amount.

Part A: Benefit requirements:

  • Sickness, injury, or death of traveler, travel companion, or family member
  • Quarantine, jury duty, court order to appear as witness for traveler or travel companion
  • Traveler or traveling companion’s place of employment damaged due to natural disaster, requiring traveler or travel companion to remain at work
  • Documented theft or loss of passport or visa
  • Job transfer
  • Documented traffic accident causing missed trip departure
  • Organized labor strike, bad weather, or mechanical breakdown of aircraft for 24 hours or more
  • Shutdown of airport or air traffic control system for 6 hours or more, preventing trip departure
  • Emergency military duty resulting from natural disaster for traveler or travel companion
  • Previously granted military leave revoked for traveler or travel companion
  • Job termination or layoff with employer

Preexisting condition coverage

You can take advantage of the Travel Protection Plan even if you have a preexisting condition. Pay for your Travel Protection Plan in full within 14 days of your initial deposit, and your pre-existing condition will qualify for cash reimbursement. If you purchase after 14 days, you’ll receive a voucher.

Part B- Benefits While Traveling

Trip Interruption

Maximum: Up to 100% of trip costs (with $100,000 maximum)

If you have to interrupt your trip or end it early due to one or more covered reasons, you can be reimbursed, up to the maximum original trip cost plus the additional transportation cost to return home or rejoin your trip.

Emergency Medical and Dental
Maximum: $50,000 ($750 dental sublimit)
This benefit reimburses you for medical and dental expenses incurred during your journey due to covered emergencies.

Emergency Transportation
Maximum: $500,000
This benefit provides medically necessary transportation to the nearest appropriate facility and can also provide benefits for the cost of your transportation back home following a covered injury or illness.

Travel Delay (includes missed connections)
Maximum: $300 per day, up to $1,500
If your trip is delayed for 6 or more hours, this benefit reimburses you up to $300 per person, per day for additional travel expenses. If this covered delay results in your missing your cruise/tour departure, the daily limit does not apply.

Covers loss, damage, or theft of baggage and personal effects.

Baggage Delay
Maximum:

Reimburses the reasonable additional purchase of essential items during your trip if your baggage is delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for 12 hours or more. Receipts for emergency purchases are required.

Accidental Death Benefit
Your beneficiaries can receive payment according to the plan's Schedule of Benefits for Accidental Death, which occurs within 180 days of an injury sustained while you are on your trip.

You are badly injured while traveling abroad and require emergency medical transportation

Your connecting flight is delayed for 6 hours or more due to an ice storm
With travel delay protection, you can be reimbursed for up to $300 a day per person for a hotel room and transportation, so you can get a good night's rest.
Your luggage has been lost by the airline
The airline has limited responsibilities for missing luggage, but Baggage Loss or Baggage Delay Benefits may provide reimbursement for replacement clothing and other necessities, up to the plan limits.
Your travel destination is hit by political unrest before you depart

Cancel For Any Reason coverage lets you cancel for any reason, so you'll receive your entire prepaid nonrefundable trip cost in the form of a Vantage Travel Certificate for the cancellation penalty amount. You’ll receive the balance of the refund, if applicable, by check or a credit on your card credit.

Please note: Purchase our plan within 14 days of reserving your trip and you’ll waive the Preexisting Condition Exclusion, provided you are not disabled from travel at the time of plan payment. This plan may only be purchased up to 121 days prior to your scheduled departure date. If making a last minute booking within 121 days, then you may only purchase this plan when making your initial deposit/payment for your Vantage trip.

If you must cancel your Vantage trip prior to departure:

If you must cancel your Vantage trip before your scheduled departure date for: 1) a covered reason under the Part A Cancellation Penalty Waiver Benefit, you will be reimbursed by check for the cancellation penalty amount (the balance of the refund, if applicable, will be made either by check or credit card credit); or 2) for any reason under the Enhanced Cancel For Any Reason Penalty benefit, you will receive a Vantage Travel Certificate for the cancellation penalty amount (the balance of the refund, if applicable, will be made either by check or credit card credit).

Please note that the Vantage Travel Part A Enhanced Cancel For Any Reason Penalty Waiver does not cover penalties associated with air or other travel arrangements not directly provided by Vantage. Vantage Travel Certificates are nontransferable and nonrefundable, are valid for one year from the date of issuance, but not to exceed 15 months after the date of trip cancellation, and may not be redeemed for cash.
