Day at leisure in Brazil to acclimate

Upon arrival, you’ll transfer to your hotel. Settle in with a day at leisure; tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner at the hotel alongside your fellow travelers.

DAY 3:

Behold the Devil’s Throat and take a thrilling Macuco Safari boat ride

Begin your explorations today on the Brazilian side of the falls, taking in spectacular panoramic views. Start with a walking tour with magnificent views of Devil's Throat, where torrents crash into a narrow canyon from three sides. You'll have free time to enjoy lunch on your own before your next wet and wild adventure — a Macuco Safari Boat Ride.

First, a 4x4 vehicle will bring you through the dense rainforest where you’ll view flowers, birds, and butterflies. As you pass through the undergrowth, your jungle guides will point out orchids, palm trees, bromeliads, and centenarian trees. Then, board special speedboats bound for Iguassu’s gorge, where falls thunder in from three sides and where you can snap some amazing photos. Then, get ready to get wet! Your experienced river pilots, who know these waters extensively, will give you a thrilling ride through some of the rapids, guiding you right up next to the splashing cascades. (Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, casual clothes, and prepare to get soaked! If you prefer not to get wet, a dry option is also available.) Depart home and fly to Manaus

Today you'll board a flight to Manaus — gateway to the Amazon! If you purchased your airfare from Vantage, you'll be met at the airport by a representative who will assist you with your transfer.

DAY 2:

Explore the Brazilian Amazon

After breakfast this morning, transfer to your Amazon lodge in the most thrilling way — by boat along the Tarumã River! After the welcome reception with welcome drink, you’ll have time to settle in to your ecolodge and explore before lunch. Then, head out for a trek into the jungle; keep an eye out for macaws, toucans, squirrel monkeys, and a rich menagerie of wildlife. After a welcome dinner at the lodge, take a canoe out with an experienced guide to see if you can spot alligators at the water’s edge.

DAY 3:

Witness the Meeting of the Waters

Following a delicious breakfast of Western favorites and locally harvest fruits like bananas and papaya, join a full-day tour to view the Meeting of the Waters. Where the Amazon and the Tapajós converge, their waters retain their own distinct colors for several miles as they flow side by side. It is one of the Amazon’s many remarkable phenomena. Cultural Discovery: Later, your boat brings you to a serene lake where you can angle for the notorious piranha fish; you’ll get an up-close view of this sharp-toothed hunter as soon as your guide manages to catch one! Enjoy a delicious dinner back at the lodge.

Visit an Indian village and, later, join your base program

DAY 26:

Explore the Brazilian Amazon

Transfer this morning to your Amazon lodge in the most thrilling way – by boat along the Tarumã River! After a reception with welcome drinks, you'll check into your room before heading out to visit an Indian Village, where you'll have an opportunity to interact with locals and learn about daily life along the Amazon River.

Following your visit, you'll head back to your hotel for lunch. Later, you will board a boat and head to a serene lake where you can angle for the notorious piranha and get an up-close view of this sharp-toothed hunter. You’ll return to your hotel for dinner. Afterwards, you'll depart the hotel and board a canoe with an experienced guide for a post-dinner alligator spotting excursion.

DAY 27:

Witness the Meeting of the Waters

Say goodbye to the Amazon and transfer to Manaus for your flight home

Your flight home departs Manaus around midnight.

Discover the Argentinean side of Iguassu Falls

Today's discoveries take you to the Argentinean side of Iguassu Falls, the world's largest waterfall system, with 275 falls in less than a two-mile radius. Your first views will be from the Upper Trail, which offers a premium vantage point of this natural wonder as you literally walk across the water! Lunch is on your own in the park. You'll then transfer to your hotel and have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner this evening will be at the hotel.

DAY 27:

Explore the Brazilian side of Iguassu Falls

Today you'll visit the Brazilian side of Iguassu Falls on a walking tour with incredible views, including the Devil's Throat. This is the largest of the falls, where torrents crash into a narrow canyon. The tour will end at Porto Canoas, where you'll be free to have lunch on your own.

Keep the adventure rolling into the afternoon with a Macuco safari Boat Ride. An open trolley will whisk you through dense rainforest for vistas of flowers, birds, butterflies, and ages-old trees. Then, get your waterproof camera ready, as you embark on a speedboat bound for Iguaçu's gorge. Your experienced river pilot will give you a thrilling ride through the rapids, guiding you right up to the splashing cascades. (Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as you will likely get soaked!)

Tonight, you’ll embrace the spirit of Brazil with a night on the town. On the menu are drinks and a lively samba dance show. You’ll learn more about this vibrant dance and music genre, which originates from African religious traditions, as well as other regional dance forms.
