DAY 1:

Fly to Anchorage, Alaska

Board a flight to Anchorage to begin your explorations of Denali! If you purchased your airfare from Vantage, a representative will meet you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 2:

Denali adventures await

After breakfast, board your deluxe motorcoach and head north to Denali National Park, home to six million acres of pristine nature and Mt. Denali — the highest mountain in North America, clocking in at 20,310’! On the way, visit to the home of a local dog musher to learn more about the state’s official sport. A longtime and essential part of Alaskan culture, mushing — or, transport and recreation using a team of dogs — still remains the preferred mode of travel between rural communities here. You may even get to cuddle with some local puppies (no, you can’t take one home!). In Denali, enjoy ample free time to hike, search for wildlife, and photograph your epic surroundings.

Included meals:

Breakfast  & lunch

DAY 3:

Wildlife searching in Denali

Today, travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour, where you’ll search the vast wilderness for bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep, famous for their curved horns. This six- to eight-hour journey will be narrated by a knowledgeable local guide, who’ll offer insight into the animals as well as the flora and fauna of this unique region. A snack is included on board. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure, perhaps electing an optional tour such as flightseeing, rafting, dog kennel tours, and guided hiking, among others.

DAY 4:

Denali Rail Depot train ride

This morning, you will be transferred to the Denali Rail Depot for a deluxe dome railcar ride to the quaint town of Talkeetna, which sits at the confluence of three rivers. Talkeetna, a National Historic Site, features buildings from the early 1900s, as well as unforgettable views of Denali and lots of local crafts and arts. Enjoy lunch and epic scenery on the rails. This evening, board your motorcoach and continue south to Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage, where you'll join the base program.
