Lunch is on your own before it’s time to visit one of the island's top attractions: the Blue Lagoon. Take in your spectacular surroundings while basking in these famous warm, milky-blue waters, the perfect rejuvenating ritual. Dinner is on your own tonight.

Take in the view as you approach one of the most well-known hotels in Ireland, an imposing, ivy-laden fortress flanked by picturesque courtyards and set against the endlessly green landscapes this country is famous for. Check in and enjoy a brief orientation walk before settling in. Dinner is included in the castle tonight.

The day is yours to explore Kingscourt as you wish. Perhaps you’ll head into town and grab a pint of Guiness at Gartlan’s Pub, an institution of this small community providing a comfortable atmosphere to meet and chat with local people. Alternatively, maybe you’ll venture to nearby Carrickmacross where you can enjoy a round of golf, relax at the local spa, or explore the trendy local bars and restaurants.

This morning after breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and set off for the Dún na Rí Forest Park, situated just outside of Kingscourt. Enjoy a guided walk along the lush banks of the Cabra River, which spans the full length of the park area and is steeped in wartime legend. A highly-contested territory, it was controlled by the warrior people of Gailenga from the 3rd to 11th centuries, at which point the O’Reilly family came into power. They erected the breathtaking Castle Cabra on their land in 1607, which is precisely where you spent your last two nights!
