WELCOME RECEPTION AT RAFFLES HOTEL
Singapore’s historic Raffles Hotel was built in the early 1830s and remains one of island’s landmarks — the perfect place to cap your inaugural voyage with a festive Farewell Dinner. Here in this colonial gem is where many — such as Noel Coward, Somerset Maugham, and Elizabeth Taylor — have imbibed…most likely the famous Singapore Sling that was invented here. More recently, the hotel was featured in the 2018 blockbuster film, Crazy Rich Asians.
ONBOARD ENTERTAINMENT
Top off a day of discovery in George Town with a special treat — enjoy lively entertainment when local dancers come aboard your ship and give a passionate performance.
CLASSIC KATHAKALI DANCE PERFORMANCE
After a day of exploring eclectic Cochin, reembark the Ocean Odyssey for cocktails and a traditional Hindu recital of Kathakali dance by local performers. The elaborately-embellished costumes and vibrant make up are mesmerizing on their own, but the movements are stunningly graceful and controlled. Your Guest Lecturer will provide insights on how this performance relates to Hindu cultural heritage.
