What to Expect

Moderate Activity Level

Very Different Cultural Immersion

PACING:

This adventure is moderately paced.
You’ll spend 15 nights cruising aboard the Ocean Odyssey, 1 night in a luxury resort in Sri Lanka, and 2 nights each in centrally located hotels in Singapore and Mumbai at the beginning and end of your trip.
In addition to your arrival and departure cities, you'll visit 10 ports of call in five different countries.
There are three days at sea when you have ample time to relax and enjoy the amenities on board your luxury expedition vessel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

You should be in relatively good health to fully enjoy this tour
This journey does not entail walking for great distances but you will be on your feet for up to four hours for half-day excursions and eight hours for full-day excursions
Most city sightseeing takes place on air-conditioned coaches with guides
You will have the opportunity to visit local beaches, especially in Phuket
There are several walking tours through historic centers and villages where uneven roads or terrain should be expected
This cruise tour is not suitable for those who have difficulty walking or require wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Please refer to Vantage's wheelchair and handicapped traveler policy

TERRAIN & TRANSPORTATION

Your ship is your main means of transportation between destinations
All land transportation is conducted on board deluxe, air-conditioned motorcoaches
There is one included excursion cruise on a traditional houseboat in Alleppey
There is a trishaw ride in Singapore
In Sri Lanka you will disembark your ship for an overland expedition. Overnight accommodations are provided

CLIMATE

You will be visiting tropical locales where the weather is hot and humid
Depending on the time of year you can expect daytime average high temperatures to run between 70°–100°F. There may be short tropical showers throughout the day
The sun is very strong in this part of the world so sunscreen, sunglasses, and sun hats are musts
Stay cool by wearing lightweight fabrics (such as cotton or linen)

WHAT TO WEAR:

Shorts, short skirts, or revealing clothing are not appropriate, especially when visiting temples or religious sites. Your regional expert will tell you ahead of time which days require a dress code
Bring sensible walking shoes which can be easily removed when required; sandals are ideal when visiting temples because they can be easily removed

While cruising, Internet connectivity may be limited or unavailable depending on ship location and signal availability
Internet connectivity will be normal when at docking locations
