Much of the walking on tours is over uneven terrain, cobblestone walkways, and flagstone paths. Panoramic tours use air-conditioned coaches, with some journeys of up to an hour or more. Whenever possible, the motorcoaches will bring you as close to pedestrian centers as the historic preservation of these older towns and cities can allow. Museum visits may include several flights of stairs. The canal tour in Strasbourg requires you to embark and disembark the tour boats via steps or a ramp.
