Was very disappointed with the Budapest stop. Due to the late arrival my wife and I were not able to visit the castle, Church or the Christmas Market. Vantage should have informed passengers of the fact that there would be no visiting in Budapest unless you signed up for the precruise extension. A previous Vantage cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam (10 years ago) allowed for a shopping tour upon arrival and then the next day a vist to the church and castle were scheduled because the ship wasn't leaving until 5PM. The remainder of the cruise was excellent. All the Christmas Markets were as advertised.
What an amazing trip from start to finish From Budapest to Regensburg the trip was beautiful! Scenery along the River was stunning! The Christmas markets in the Individual towns were excellent, wonderful experience of food and wine, unique crafts of the region and festive Each town brought its own local crafts, music and Christmas spirit so individualized to the town The tours , the fine dining, lectures on local holiday customs were excellent The service was amazing from wait staff to room attentiveness, cruise director and front desk staff -everything was perfect!!!!
Even though the river did not cooperate with our plans, after we were bussed to Vienna, all went smoothly. Thoroughly enjoyed the activities on the ship. The accommodations were great. The service from all the onboard staff was over and above what I expected. Dinners were excellent and lots of choices were given. The desserts were to die for. Our cruise director did a fantastic job and went out of her way to help with any issues or questions. I am very glad I took this journey.
Great trip! Staff on this ship couldn’t be more attentive and accommodating. Vantage needs work on logistics & communication The itinerary is superior, ports perfect amount of time. Definitely do the extensions
This journey exceeded our expectations. From the minute we landed in Budapest until we reached security in the airport in Munich, every detail of our trip was expertly managed without flaw. Having read previous reviews, we were hesitant about the food and the service going into our trip. Both were excellent! This was our first river cruise. It would be an injustice to compare sea going cruises to a river cruise. We enjoy the uniqueness of both. We will definitely plan future river cruises with Vantage. It was an amazing trip!
